The stud was established in 1979, breeding Welsh Section B's, and has moved on to specialise in breeding top class lead rein and first ridden pure and part bred ponies.
The stud owns the illustrious stallion
"Orielton Aristocrat", sire of countless supreme champions, including
HOYS mini champion "Nantcol Lady Julia", HOYS supreme of show "Colne
Heiress" and HOYS search for a star champion "Barkway Black
Magic". "Aristocrat" had no less than 5 daughters qualified
as lead reins for the Royal International Horse Show 2000, 4 of them Barkway
born and bred!
The latest addition to "Aristocrat's" list of Champion offspring is
Barkway Happy Returns, out of Templeton finalist Spinningdale Birthday
Parade. This outstanding 4 yr old mare has been an extensive winner of
major Lead Rein Championships, culminating in becoming Lead Rein pony of the
Year at the Horse of the Year Show - Produced by Lindsey Hillyard, ridden by her
